Trip Report: Trapping in the Andrews Valley

Route: Up and down Andrews Valley

One fine sunny day in May, 6 intrepid CUTC members went off to delicately place eggs in wooden boxes and throw dead animals through the forest.

  • Kills noted: 1 hedgehog (in trap #1)
  • Wildlife seen: Pīwakawaka, toutouwai and korimako
  • Eggs broken: Numerous

Conclusion: It was a relaxing day wandering through forests and across river flats, and we got to help out the native birds of Aotearoa in the process
